Dear Dr. Beverlee,
I am 39 years old single male. I come from a family which is neither rich nor poor. I confess that I am a daydreamer as well as used to dream good dreams but not always. One year ago, I got contact with an astrologer whose name I deja vu. She talked me about soul mate. I tried to search my memories all the way back. When I was about 10 years old, I received a love story and a name through a dream. She was a fortuneteller. I looked for her in the waking life on a different purpose and not found then. Strangely enough that love story also reflects my love life. I meet a girl in a dream, propose love, talk a lot, ask her name and later to realize that she is from the different part of the world, I was afraid I back out and woke up. But I still love her for she is a peaceful type of woman to my eyes. Is it practical to continue loving a woman from dream? I can afford the money that astrologer ask. But I don't know how to transfer the money to her. By the way one of her clients has the same name as the woman from my dreams as well as the astrologer's name is the same as from the I had 29 years ago. I like to know how will I find my soul mate. Thru astrologer? Thru my dreams? On the streets? I am so confused. Help me!!!

Dear T:

Dreams give clues to our needs and desires. It also helps us understand where we are in our current life. Since you have dreamed of a relationship over years, it is a recurring theme telling you there is a need to accomplish this goal.

The Yin: Spending time and energy on astrology and a “dream lover” will not allow you to fulfill your goal. Time is running faster and faster as you approach your 40th birthday. So give yourself a gift. Begin to do all the things you enjoy, especially those things around other people: sports, dancing, biking, and hiking with other like minded spirits. If there are places to socialize, then go there alone or with friends. Only you know what activity makes you happy besides dreaming.

The Yang: When we discover and pursue those things that bring joy, we find others out there who will fit with our personality and….. our dreams.

Feel free to write again.
