Dear Dr. Bev,
Hope u r fine.

Ma'am i just want to overcome the fear for ghosts and evil spirits. Actually this won't haunt me everytime. This happens when I hear any experiences from my friends or relatives. That day i will be afraid to get into a room alone. I am 27 yrs old and have a little baby of 7 months.

While i was married on 2000 and had a stay at my in-laws home for 5 months i couldn't sleep alone. I used to sleep with my mother-in-law. Now i am with my husband and don't have fear. As i said earlier if i hear fearful stories again this starts. And also if i have to stay alone at night.

Please write a solution.

Thanking you

Dear Bothered By Ghosts:

When fear prevents you from living comfortably, and when you live in a way you wish could be changed then you need to find a therapist to help you make the changes. Your family can contact a family physician for a name, or if there is no doctor you trust you can check with a local hospital for some names of recommended professional people.

The Yin: There are some excellent medications which work in situations like yours. However, you will need an evaluation by a competent doctor and he or she will determine what is best. Choose someone that you feel comfortable with. Only then will you feel free to talk about your thoughts and feelings.

The Yang: Having a 7 month-old baby makes it even more important for you to reach out for help.
